API's certifications are regarded as the most demanded and desired credentials in the industry. ID Policy:

For API exam, the examinee must present one form of government-issued ID. The ID must be valid and must bear the signature and photograph and should be in English Language. Acceptable IDs include Passport and SMART CNIC.

It is very important that the name with which you register must exactly match the name appearing on your ID card. If there are any name discrepancies, then you would be asked for other valid IDs. Even then, if the name on your presented IDs does not match your registered name, the candidate will not be allowed to take the exam.

Test Availability:

At USEFP testing centres, API test is offered four days a week, from Monday to Thursday, throughout the year.

Exam Fees and Registration:

The exam fee varies as per the module. The fee structure is shown as below:

Exams Registration:

The registration for the exam is done by following the below procedure:

  1. Go to the API website (http://www.api.org)
  2. Select Products and Services
  3. Go the Individual Certificates and Trainings
  4. Register for the exam.
  5. After your application is approved, you will receive an Exam Authorization email from API with an Eligibility ID and instructions on how to schedule your exam. API computer-based exams are taken at Prometric testing centers. The exam can be scheduled by logging onto http://www.prometric.com.

Rescheduling/Cancellation of Exam:

API gives each candidate 12 consecutive months to pass an exam. This 12-month period begins with the first scheduled exam date. You may need to submit a Reschedule Application if any of the events listed below occur within the 12-month period. Reschedule/Retest fees apply:

  • If you fail to schedule your computer-based exam on the Prometric website
  • If you do not pass the examination
  • If you do not show up for the examination
  • If you schedule your exam appointment with Prometric and then want to change to a new testing window

To submit a Reschedule application, follow the below procedure,

  1. Go to the API website (http://www.api.org)
  2. Select Products and Services
  3. Go the Individual Certificates and Trainings
  4. Click Apply
  5. Then select the Reschedule/Retest Applications

Score Reports:

Candidates will receive a final score report via email from Prometric approximately 6-8 weeks after the exam. The final score report can also be accessed at that time via https://scorereports.prometric.com.

Disability Services:

The candidates would be required to seek approval from API for special needs or testing accommodations. After the approval is granted, the candidate would be required to visit the Prometric website (http://www.prometric.com) to schedule any testing accommodations or special needs services.
